One of the universal truths in our industry is the occasional service outage: it’s possible at any time with any system. These outages can occur for several reasons, the most common of which are local network outages and cable/hardware damage. For our customers, gaining access to outage data is crucial to assessing service interruptions when they occur and getting systems back online as quickly as possible. But how do you know when service drops out? For many of our users, it can take several hours or even days to realize their devices have stopped collecting data.

With this in mind, we are proud to announce our latest product enhancement: Automatic Outage Notification. An earlier version of this feature has been available for several years as an added service, but we recently decided to provide our most advanced outage reporting capabilities to all our customers. Users can now enable customizable notifications for every device, which will alert company staff whenever there is an issue that needs attention. The result: improved efficiency and customer experience.

Fully customizable outage alerts

Here’s how it works: when your account administrator visits the Flonomics dashboard, they now have access to the Outage Notification interface. This interface allows users to select how often they want to be notified in the event of an outage, and the maximum number of alerts they would like to receive. Just pick the notification settings that work for your team—options range from 3-36 hours between notifications and 1-10 total alerts per outage—then identify your notification email address(es) and you’re good to go. Settings are adjustable at any time.

After setup, in the event of an outage, a series of email notifications will automatically send to your designated address(es), per your specifications, until the issue is resolved. When an outage email is received, it’s time to begin your service outage troubleshooting protocol. As always, our staff is more than willing to assist in the event of an outage, but this new feature gives you the distinct ability to work with us as a team to get your device back online in due time.

Ultimately, when we streamline our process, it streamlines your process. The faster we can get your devices back online in the event of an outage, the faster you can get back to what’s really important: running your business.
